MK Containers do offer shipping containers with electrics fitted prior to delivery. If you know what you want, great, otherwise just ask and we can quote you for some of our most popular options.
With shipping containers having such a wide variety of uses and applications one client’s electric requirements can be drastically different from the next – hence why we don’t offer ‘packages’ so to speak. If the client has an understanding of when they’re using the container for (i.e. a workshop, an office, an ice cream bar, a garden shed, etc.) they may have an idea of what they’re going to need electrics wise; two lights, two sockets and somewhere to plug in a heater for example!

A common shipping container electrics package will consist of 2-4 ceiling strip lights (depending on size of container), 2x 13 amp domestic plug sockets, 1x light switch, 1x 2.0kW heater, 1x internal RCD, 1x external power connection point, all electrical wiring and trunking. All our work will be certified at our depot, but you will require a qualified electrician to install it once its delivered.
When we install electrics into a shipping container we will always use a qualified electrician, and certification for the work will be available on request. However you will still require your own electrician to install the container and the electrics once we have delivered it to your site.
A popular option with shipping container electric packages, especially if they’re being used for rooms or offices, is ply lining and insulating. Completely lining and insulating a shipping container with a stud frame, 600mm batons, insulation (Rockwool or similar), 6mm hardwood ply board gives a fantastic insulated shipping container, reduces temperature fluctuations and reduces condensation build up.
Usually Hard spots / fixing points for the electrics have to be included on just a shipping container. However, if you are intending to have the electrics fitted alongside a ply-line and insulate, the fixers will not be necessary (as we’ll fix everything to, and hide it all behind, the boarding)
